Community program gets $200K grant

HealthMatch, a community-specific health professional recruitment service run by Catskill Hudson AHEC, has received a $200,000 award from the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers grant program.

The grant is awarded under the Local Health Planning Initiative of the HEAL NY Program.

HealthMatch was developed by Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center this year.

It is intended to combine the commitment of health care, business and civic leaders to provide increased local access to quality health care.

It is specifically designed to increase the number of health care professionals, the release said.

Catskill Hudson AHEC’s 11-county area it serves includes Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie counties.
