THE 12th Annual Stillwater Bridal Showcase

The 12th Annual Stillwater Bridal Showcase is set to fill the Payne County Expo Center to the rafters with a wedding lollapalooza.
Local vendors and bride-to-be’s can exchange information, ideas, and informal fun at Stillwater’s premiere bridal show. Working tirelessly since last October the Bridal Showcase’s director Chrissy Arnold has invited the best in betrothal know-how and assembled them in an event for the season.
“We make sure the expo center is decorated and the booths are equipped with electricity and WiFi,” said Arnold.
With the aesthetics in order and exhibitors given the green light the expo center becomes the bridal epicenter of Northern Oklahoma.
Why bother with the drive to the city when quality wedding help can be found right here. “We saw a need for a local show…The NewsPress took on this task,” said Arnold. Spotlighting Stillwater’s brides and bridal experts is the primary focus but the benefits of the show’s emphasis on the locale spread easily. Everyone seems to be pitching in.
This year’s style show is lent a helping hand by the girls of house Chi-Omega, fashions by Black Velvet Bridal Boutique, Formal Fantasy, Irene’s Bridal & Heartfelt Floral and Costumes, Balloons & Stuff.. Hairstyles will be done by Mereidian Technology’s cosmetology department. The Pioneer cheering squad is raising funds for a slated March competition by offering food and drink.
“This show really is a local event. From the Stillwater High School cheerleaders running the concession stand, to the local exhibitors working with local brides-to-be, …We all come together to make it a great show,” said Arnold.
And what a show it is. Far from the meet and greet alone, this winter wedding wondertorium comes complete with a professional DJ to keep the rhythm, a style show strutting numerous gowns and garb available with local clothiers, and last but not least: a cake dive. Brides will get a chance to roll up their sleeves and plunge into a cake generously donated by Stillwater Consumers IGA.
Baked within is a small wedding band, and the lucky yet messy bride that frees the band from its sugary hideout wins the Bridal Showcase’s Grand Prize:
A weekend getaway for 2 at any of over 200 lodgings in Oklahoma, donated by the Stillwater NewsPress.
A dove release at their wedding, compliments of Forever Blest.
A Biltmore luggage bag provided by Belk.
The grand prize package is valued at $800.
“It’s become quite a success,” said Arnold. Indeed it has, the convergence of so many bride-to-be’s and nearby vendors, planners, decorators, bakers, and clothiers has solidified the showcase as the marker for the bridal season of the following year.
Free tickets can be found at the Stillwater NewsPress office, Belk department store, and Colonial Florist with admission $5 at the door on the day of.
If you’re planning a wedding, in a wedding, or just attending a wedding the place for you to be this 30th of January is the 12th Annual Stillwater Bridal Showcase.
