In the beginning
![]() |
In the beginning: Trent and Kristi met at the campus ministries at Wallace State Community College. Both were attending school in 2005 there and became involved in the program.
First date: They went out to eat at Cracker Barrell and then took a walk through Depot Park to look at the Christmas light display.
Will you marry me? They were at Depot Park, eating lunch one day. "Trent got down on one knee, the whole nine yards," Kristi said. "I later found out that he had photographer and co-worker Amanda Shavers-Davis take pictures of the whole thing. It was perfect! What made it so great was that was the place of our first date."
The wedding: They were married on October 11, 2008, at 2 p.m. The ceremony was an outdoor affair at their church, Living Water Ministries. Greg Aldridge performed a traditional double-ring ceremony.
Traditions: Kristi leaves for work earlier than Trent virtually every morning, but she always texts him "good morning," when she knows he normally wakes up for work.
Receptions: The reception was also held at the church. Kristi said they had good food and a lot of fun.
Any accidents during ceremony: Kristi said the ceremony went very smooth. Kristi's niece, ReAnna, was the flower girl. Normally the child isn't shy at all, but she got a little bit of stage fright and her brother had to walk her down the aisle. "It was actually precious though," Kristi said.
Honeymoon: The couple went to a bed and breakfast for a long weekend for their honeymoon. Kristi said it was great to get away and they had a wonderful time together. They are planning a trip to New York this year for a "real" honeymoon.
Happily ever after: The couple currently resides in Cullman. They have a dog and a cat. Kristi is CSR for the Northeast/Midwest at R.E. Garrison Trucking, INC and Trent is a news reporter at The Cullman Times. They also serve as the youth and children's ministers at their
church.
